Darin Gilbert

Darin was hired by the Farmington Police Department in December of 2000.  Prior to that he worked for four years at the Kennebec County Sheriff's Department as a Corrections Sergeant. 

Darin graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in the 2nd Basic Law Enforcement Training Program in 2002. 

Currently 1 of 5 Field Training Officers, Darin completed a major revision of the Field Training manual in 2005.  He is also a certified Defensive Tactics instructor and classroom instructor for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and the Farmington Police Department.  Darin was awarded Employee of the Year for 2005 and 2009 making him one of only three Farmington Police Department employees to receive this distinction.  In addition Darin has been named Employee of the Quarter for the Fall of 2007 and one of three officers named as Employee of the Quarter for Winter of 2008. 

Darin enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family when not working.
